Almost $15000 raised during the 2024 Avenues for Hope Fundraiser.

We can’t thank you enough for your generous support during Avenues for Hope.
Our major fundraiser, Avenues for Hope, was a huge success and brought in almost $15,000 to support our low income community. You are impacting lives and making a huge difference for people who desperately need it.

Take a look at what your support helped us accomplish in 2024.

Auto & Transportation Support:  Sometimes a vehicle is not only a way to get to essential services, but it is the only home for those who live in their cars.  This year we provided:

  • 20 vehicle repairs
  • Gas cards (when other programs were unable to provide)
  • Bus Passes— Day & Monthly Passes for job and critical appointments
  • Transportation to meetings, appointments, and events
  • Multiple Bike repairs

Grocery & Clothing Support:  Being without a home means that people have no place to store even basic essentials. Getting a job often means the person needs new or a specific type of clothing. So far we provided:

  • Idaho Youth Ranch vouchers for clothing. Specific needs including shoes, gloves, underwear, work boots for construction jobs.
  • Food Cards— Being homeless often means not fitting a schedule of available meals or food distributions.  BoiseLIST.org informs most people of regularly scheduled meals and food, but sometimes alternative solutions are needed.

Case Management Support:  Being homeless doesn’t mean people are without income, or don’t need it.  Accessing income due is sometimes challenging and Boise Low Income Support helped many people receive help in 2024 with:

  • Tax Support
  • DMV, Social Security & Health & Welfare Support
  • Resume crafting & job placement

Specialty Support:  Surviving in today’s world is complex enough for those of us with a stable home base, but when that survival includes needing to carry essentials with you, and limited, if any income, it is most challenging. Boise Low Income Support helped with:

  • Computer/Tablet/Phone repair & replacement
  • Multiple vital documents, birth certificates and/or ID cards
  • Numerous housing applications (including fees to submit application)
  • Many requests for personal products for hygiene needs
  • Lodging at local motels (emergencies when no other safe places available)
  • Wheelchair repairs
  • Veterinary support—through our partnership with The Street Dog Coalition
  • Direct rent support when facing eviction.

Outdoor Support for non-sheltered people:  Not everyone “fits” in shelters or other housing either due to limited availability of the shelter or unsuitability for the guest.  And again, with no place to store one’s shelter, it is vulnerable to theft, damage from the elements, or other losses.

  • Multiple outdoor tarps & tents
  • Multiple outdoor stoves & propane cylinders
